Anoushka Akel (b. 1977, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland) is an Aotearoa artist who lives and works in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Akel’s practice combines the processes of print with the material and formal grammar of painting. Through recurring images of the human body and bodies of water, she explores the relationship between wicked problems and atomic facts, considering how pressure and plasticity shape the human experience.

Akel completed a Master of Fine Arts at the Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland Waipapa Taumata Rau, in 2010. She was artist-in-residence at Künstlerhäuser Worpswede, Bremen, Germany, in 2013, received the C Art Trust Award in 2018, and undertook a residency at Parehuia, the Colin McCahon House, in 2024.
